Move from having an idea for a story to feeling ready to share your writing with others. Our 8-Week Creative Writing Discovery Course guides you through the creative cycle in a small, supportive group, giving you practical tools to develop your work and build a sustainable writing practice.

Across eight two-hour sessions, you’ll explore how to find and develop ideas, choose a literary form and begin shaping a story. We’ll look at character, setting, narrative structure, voice and style—and how these elements work together to create an experience for your reader. You’ll practice reading like a writer, asking useful research questions and drawing on both imagination and lived experience.

Alongside the technical craft, we’ll explore the personal experience of creating: how to begin when you feel uncertain, work through creative blocks and develop routines that support your writing. You’ll learn how to give and receive constructive feedback, use it to revise your work and consider your next steps towards sharing or publication.

Whether you’re drawn to poetry, short stories, memoir, a novel or a screenplay, you’ll be encouraged to apply what you learn to a project that matters to you. The course welcomes beginners as well as writers returning to their practice.
